The Animal

The walls were pressing in so tight, it had no choice but to try and break free!
The walls were elastic but strong and were closing in with every breath.
No matter how it tore and clawed, it could not tear the walls that were now starting to cover it and then it simply stopped fighting.
It waited, it felt enveloped and trapped and yet it was free to move.
Outside, its true shape was revealed but it was not free,
it was not free.
This was not freedom!

Then one day the elastic wall disappeared,
and the whole world existed for it!
It ran,
it roared,
it tore
and it clawed.

Then it saw the elastic wall closing in again and started to run!
