Gothenburg Book Fair

I will be signing copies of Astrum at The Gothenburg Book Fair on 30th September 2017 at Andra Världar’s Booth: A03:52.  The book fair is Scandinavia’s largest cultural event and the beautiful city of Gothenburg is the perfect setting.

Fellow author, traveller and cosmic adventurer, Jhedron Luckspar will also be signing his books at the event and as that person who keeps reading my posts will know, I am huge fan of his inspirational and brilliant work.

Should you like to purchase any of my work or speak to me regarding rights, publishing or commissions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Different Every Day

Normally I let it pass but I just had to write,

I know I take you for granted,

but today

you blew me away

and I want to get it right.

I’ve never seen you quite so bright

and everytime you change,

but this morning

you caught me yawning,

magnificent sunlight.

The Verse

The Verse, multiple dimensions, multiple time lines, multiple realities, and for multiple, read infinite. That’s a lot of possibilities and quite mind blowing for most beings who are content to exist in their little corner of what reality means to them. They have no interest in anything outside of their universe, uni…meaning one, because they have bills to pay, places to be, entertainment to consume, people to try and sleep with, birthday’s to organise, business to win and whatever else keeps them busy where they are.

For some though, a rare minority of mostly weird individuals though occasionally entire species, a single universe is not enough. These rare minorities have discovered through technology, through spirituality, through accident, guidance or simply being aware at birth, that there are in fact multiple every-things and that it is quite possible, with the right technology, spiritual atunement, natural gifts or the right friends, to cross between them all.

Some say that the Verse always was, always will be and always is, others say it was created by a Sci-Fi writer from Earth in the early 21st Century ( not me ) who was letting the creative spirit live through his pen and in the process, created everything. No one really knows the answers, even the weirdest of weirdos in the Verse but one thing is for sure, this particular story takes place within the Verse and this story is true. All realities are open, all times are available and all universes accessible and all of them have more in common than one might imagine, given an infinite variety of realities.

That means, everything that is being experienced right now, can change, if you have those friends, gifts or tech.

Tewkesbury Medieval Re-enacters Cross a Dimensional Portal

Something strange has already happened at the 2017 Tewkesbury Medieval Festival in 2 weeks. A group of dedicated re-enacters are given the opportunity to travel anywhere in the multiverse by Miss Anne Thrope, a master of the space time continuum who one of them happens to be acquainted with. If you want to know more, contact, Jhedron Luckspar who knows the ins and outs of this strange episode. He will be at the festival, signing his books, which most people regard as science fiction but are in fact deeply interconnected with real events and real people. You could not make it up if you tried.

Goden crossing the portal.

The festival takes place on the 8th/9th July 2017 in Tewksbury and is Europes largest annual medieval re-enactment event. I will be helping Jhedron with a selection of artwork created on the day as well as prints of previous works.

Gothenburg Book Fair 2017

The wonderfully written review from Anna Vintersvärd of Andra Varldar reminds me to shout about the Gothenburg Book Fair 28th September – 1st October 2017.

Its the second largest in Europe and the biggest in Scandinavia so if you need any other excuse to visit beautiful Gothenburg, this event is perfect. I will be there launching “Davey The Angel” and will be joined by the magical, Jhedron Luckspar author of “Equations of Being” “The Rabbit Chronicles” and “The Adventures of Miss Anne Thrope”. Here’s a teaser:

Davey The Angel : Teaser

He had always been a coward, picking off targets from a distance, from behind, from the high ground and always with a gun. This realisation came to him in the moment as the death dealer crossed the invisible line that seperated them both from life and death and swung its blades down fast.

Davey took a step back and raised his own sword to block the cuts and closed his eyes.

Davey was learning fast.

The first blade hammered into his upraised arm with a mighty crack, the second into his shoulder. The force stunned him and he dropped his own blade. He fell back against the wall clutching his arm.

Yes he was learning fast. Beyond analysis and intellectual learning, he now had combat knowledge in his very atoms. Davey had learned not to close his eyes and not to stand still but would he live long enough for its value to be of any use?

Dane’s Legacy

I saw the running boar
and walking elk,
the living trees
and mighty river swells.

Air clean with snow
and sunshine shares the sky,
with endless forests
rushing by.

Winter stones thaw
the buried Dane.
His legacy, spring flowers
not a long forgotten name.

I worshipped at the lake
and touched the glass.
Breathed in the song,
breathed in the spring
at last.

Four Friends

paris-sacre-coeurFrom the balcony they could see the feet of the Eiffel Tower and the base of the Basilica De Sacre Coeur. They were perfectly positioned for the event and when it happened, it happened like all the most important moments, in a small and intimate way.  There were no explosions of colour, no loud music or fireworks, just a glass of wine and a shared moment.

The four friends held hands and rejoiced that they were here and they were now.

“To absent friends.”

“To absent friends and bon anèe!”

All of them had made silent vows in that moment, a promise to themselves, to others and to the greater world around them of which they were a part, like a huge fabric woven of music.

If one could traverse such a fabric, one might see the impossibility of an infintite number of chord and note combinations, perhaps as colours and patterns that were ever shifting.  As one moved across the surface of such a fabric, if it were possible to regard this marvelous cloth from a higher vantage point, one might see patterns that one found harmonious and beautiful.  Patterns, colours and music that a higher being, such as we would have to be, may find pleasing to regard and perhaps one would hover closer to these moments, these areas, these places, enjoying them in much the same way as one might linger in a summer glade.

Crazy Uncle

Your father’s a practical man and he told you that wizards don’t exist to protect you from disappointment, that’s all. It’s because he loves you and he doesn’t want to see you get upset when you meet more and more people that tell you magic is not real and that people like Dumbledore, Gandalf and Father Christmas don’t exist. But magic is real! I have seen it, I have touched it, I have been part of it and will be again. It is real and it is there for people that want to find it and even if the whole world tells you it’s not true, I want you to know there will always be one person in it that tells you it is.

The Wheel

There is a wheel that turns eternal,

and when it touches on the earth,

it picks up and turns with it,

the stuff we are at birth.

Etra-ordinary matter

that turns upon the wheel,

transformed upon the journey

through new worlds and ordeals.

We shake free our extra mass,

as the great wheel turns.

We lose what is uneeded

as we travel, as we learn.

We are called to great adventure,

a journey of within.

We will meet our mentors

and cross the threshold to begin.

At last we reach the zenith,

and new worlds can be seen,

many wheels connected,

in a mystical machine.

I make this promise to you,

I leave the dirt and mud,

I will live this year with hope and love

and pledge it with my blood.

And though the wheel rotates again

and I am human too,

I am much more than that as well

and so are all of you.
